About Me.
I was awarded a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern Maine in 2004 and I currently licensed as an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker). I completed facilitator training with Remo’s HealthRHYTHMS program in March 2022 and have been attending a variety of local and national expressive arts and music therapy trainings and workshops. Additionally, much of my ongoing clinical training has included parts work, polyvagal theory, narrative therapy, mindfulness, and somatic experiencing.
Experience
I have been practicing in a variety of outpatient community health settings since 2004 providing a combination of mental health, substance use and co-occurring treatment. The seeds of drumming from a wellness were planted during my first internship as a graduate student and have been developing this ever since then. I have utilized rhythm and drumming as a metaphor and a hands-on practice with individuals and groups to address trauma, chronic health issues, depression, anxiety, substance recovery and grief.
My training with the HealthRHYTHMS program formalized my interventions and applies to both clinical populations as well as non-clinical interventions with the focus on group empowerment and wellness.
